Guayaquil, the biggest city in Ecuador, is filled with industry and history. It's not like the highland cities with their colonial architecture and indigenous culture. Guayaquil is urban and gritty, but if you know where to look you'll find some beauty here too. If you stay a while and get to know it, you might just fall for this city and its tropical vibe.
